It was only indirectly Jd - the demo doesn't work for me because I've
redefined some standard keywords like "dir".  Attempting to revert to
non-modified startup revealed that J persists in thinking my ~config points
to my C: drive even though I installed in on D:.  I'll move this question
to the Beta forum.
