Another nice way to make these images is Gerard Langlet's famous xor scan:

  |."1 ~:/\^:(<32) 32$1

He wrote a number of interesting papers about the properties of xor scans
back in the 90's,
using APL. (That's actually what got me looking at Sierpinksi matrices in
the first place.)
