Samsung doesn't use atoms, and the qtide-x86.apk is very recent (new to j804 
afaik).  You should expect better results with the regular android version.

I first installed x86 which worked before and is what failed. Then tried
v7a which installed successfully but the screen was off and said I needed
to install the latest version of jqt.

I'm not sure what processor the s4 has, but the x86 previously worked
before.
