Building the Qt IDE on 32-bit OSX is quite a bit of extra effort for us because Qt no longer supply 32-bit binaries. The last 32-bit Macs were made around 9 years ago, so we might reasonably expect that users have a more recent machine or are using a 64-bit OS. Similarly building on 10.6.8 is an extra effort. What we plan to do for J804 is to drop support for 32-bit OSX and provide one last binary for 10.6.8 64-bit. We will also document the 10.6.8 build process. Thereafter we would encourage those who really want the Qt IDE on these platforms to arrange the build themselves. We could make these binaries available from the usual download pages.
