When I got into looking at the code, I find that I use Lucida Console
for the verb-names. This has serifs. Jon, can we start this thread
over? What symbols do you find hard to distinguish, & where?

I don't think so. Ubuntu is not linux, it is just one distro of linux, there
are several hundreds of linux distro. msfont is available but whether it will
be pre-installed will depend on desktop.
