I would approach that the other way around.

Come up with a fix, and let the ISI folk worry about integrating it.

If people come up with enough good work, it'll be worthwhile
supporting github pull requests or opening svn to contributors or
something like that...

(But, at minimum, 32 and 64 bit versions will need to be tested, and
probably also different compiler versions will need to be tested -
some bugs are due to compiler writers getting into issues with
differing interpretations of their language specifications...)
