Ian,
Thanks for your kind words. The link I gave was a page of mine that had
links plus sample sections and the table of contents.

Cool to know the amazon link is up and running. Though lulu is cheaper.
Lulu also has a pdf version:
http://www.lulu.com/shop/clifford-reiter/fractals-visualization-and-j-fourth-edition-part-1/ebook/product-22579555.html
which is cheapest.
Thanks again, Cliff

Thanks for bringing this up-to-date, Cliff. Eager for Part 2.
This has long been on my bucket-list for serious study, of the sort I
last gave to "At Play With J" by J doyen Gene McDonnell. If I had a
month to do absolutely nothing in, this is how I'd fill it.
Come the day!
Seriously though, when I've done so, I'll write you a review. On
Lulu.com. Better still, on Amazon.com. In fact I don't know why the J
community isn't falling over itself to write you reviews, because this
is one of the most entertaining vehicles for promoting J itself, up
there with APWJ, even if the reader isn't primarily interested in
becoming a computer-graphics specialist. (I note with approval you're
featuring Dissect.)
@JCommunity – Here are the 2 links (because Cliff didn't give them)…
http://www.amazon.com/Fractals-Visualization-Fourth-Clifford-Reiter/dp/1329873556/
http://www.lulu.com/shop/clifford-reiter/fractals-visualization-and-j-fourth-edition-part-1/paperback/product-22561871.html
Don't be put off by the price. This is a must-have. I know what Lulu
charges for a 4-color print book (viz 4 times the b/w cost) so Cliff
is giving himself virtually no markup. So… write your review on
Amazon.com, but buy it from Lulu because it's 40% cheaper there
(rebating the book-trade markup – plus Lulu regularly does 25%-off
offers, which covers the shipping).
[Disclaimer: reviewer has bought his own copy.]

I posted this in Jchat, but was encouraged to also post here. Apologies for
the overlap.
Hello fellow Jer's,
I have released print and PDF versions of
Fractals, Visualization and J, Fourth edition, Part 1
at lulu.com. Compared to the 3rd edition, there are several new sections,
fairly substantial reorganization and update of scripts to JQT 8.04 along
with the wordsmithing inspired by feedback from teaching a few times with
it.
The table of contents for 4th ed. Part 1 and sample sections from each
chapter (and lulu links) can be found at:
http://webbox.lafayette.edu/~reiterc/j/fvj4/index.html
Note, I have left the 3rd edition as available at lulu since it works OK
with J6.02 (32bit) and is complete. So be alert to edition. Last year at
this time I thought 4th ed. Part 1 would be done by August '15. So Part 2 is
in the works but is at least several months away.
Best, Cliff
