I worked up something 20 or more years ago, might have been pretty domain-specific (optimising changes in diet!!!) and was in Dyalog APL. I've probably still got it. and could look at ways of making a readable text-file, or workspace if you've got Dyalog. It worked on the Lagrangian, I think.
