Eric, Bjorn, Raul, et al, My perspective is to make more current J users able to create "apps" for themselves or for their organizations, and less to bring new users to J (because of the other existing features and strengths). By "apps" I primarily mean apps for browsers on mobile devices because they would then work on any platform like ios or android. Imo, platform-agnosticism (bear with me on that word) may be a relatively unique feature of J. So that's why I especially mentioned JUM and apps for organizations.
Perhaps if enough non J users notice such apps they will opt to learn J. --- (B=) > On Oct 22, 2016, at 4:06 AM, Björn Helgason <[email protected]> wrote: > > It would be interesting for a group of users using the same server. > > One setting in a local network. > > On a global server too. > > JHS is a really great piece of work that more people need to understand and > use. > >> On 21 Oct 2016 21:41, "Brian Schott" <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> I suspect that there are a few users or potential users who work for >> companies which would fund in a heartbeat a necessary server* even for a >> very simple JHS app. And my guess is that such users would most want a >> working example of JUM to show how individuals can have their own >> workspace for the app, and maybe an example app as simple as the contract >> bridge scoring app I developed based on Henry's script to show how the >> html and CSS and JHS interact. >> >> So I wonder about the need to find a great app using jd or AI etc. I >> think a well explained JUM example would benefit potential users most. >> >> What do others think? >> >> *My take on the usefulness of JHS is that it requires a web server or >> service that runs J/JHS.
