in the same jwiki page you had mentioned, it said

Installing JQt binaries...
cd /usr/bin && tar --no-same-owner --no-same-permissions -xzf ...

Did you get this output? The base library in deb had a bug that it you need
first update base library and exit J. Since you have already done
install'all' so base library is now up to date. Try install'qtide' again
and confirm the output is correct. Also you might need an extra
sudo ldconfig
to update cache.

j805 has switched to use qt5, so that you may have to install some missing
depending qt packages from distro.

libjqt.so shouldn't be under /usr/bin, check the jwiki page for the correct
path.

run jqt (not jqt.sh) to launch.

I've not used J in a year or more, but it's time to do some calcs that I
put into a J script years ago, and so I just installed 8.05 onto a Debian
Jessie 64-bit system per
http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/System/Installation/Linux. I even did the
install 'all', for better or worse.

I then exited J, returned to a non-root account, and did this:

    Finished install of JQt binaries.
Exit and restart J using jqt.sh
       exit
    2!:55
       exit''
    bill:~$ jqt.sh
    bash: jqt.sh: command not found
    bill:~$ jqt
    "/usr/bin/libjqt.so"
    "could not resolve: state_run:

Cannot load library /usr/bin/libjqt.so: (libQt5WebKitWidgets.so.5: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory)"

In case it matters, I do have libqt5widgets5 installed.

I'll repeat Jan-Pieter's question from three years ago: what did I do
wrong? What do I do now?

Thanks,

Bill
