An interpolation package and corresponding lab are available at http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/User:David_Lambert

These are the isoparametric pair of headings.  To enjoy the lab I install the lab under the addons/labs/labs/math directory,

install the isoparametric shape function definitions in some other file, and modify the lab to load it.  Then run the lab from jqt or whichever is your favorite.

The shape functions could be a foundation for a finite element program written in j.  My interest however is to generate meshes and specify boundary conditions for CalculiX, an open source finite element program.

I plan a final lab and package about meshing using the isoparametric shape functions and homogeneous coordinate packages.  The one generates shape and grid density, the latter moves the pieces around.  Will Don Knuth finish \underline{The Art of Computer Computer Programming}?

Your comments would be appreciated as it would be nice, I think, to push these into the miscellaneous math addons.
