Sorry, Bill, I think I misled you - 2!:0 does work in iOS - it's only 2!:1 for which
the Vocab says "only unix" - for 2!:0,  it says "not Windows".

As for downloading AOC data files, it looks as if I'll have to stick to using
this Windows Laptop,

trying, as it first tests whether the string starts with ‘http://‘,  returning
