PS:
As for what took me so long: honestly, the medium. Email is massively 
inconvenient relative to alternatives available in 2019. I also don’t think 
we’re doing ourselves any favors on the marketing front, by hiding our warm, 
welcoming, and intelligent community behind a garden hedge.
