Thanks for pointing this out. It clearly hasn't worked for some time. We had earlier discouraged its use, e.g. in the client/server lab: "The use of sdasync is discouraged. It is not portable, doesn't work in Jconsole, is less efficient than sdselect, is atypical socket programming, and may be decommitted in future releases."
So we will decommit it now.
