When I was writing dissect I needed such a tool & didn't find one.  I ended up writing my own, which is embedded in dissect where it is called an explorer window.  You could perhaps strip it out & make a standalone function; or maybe someone could modify dissect to go straight to an explorer window if executed on a single noun or with the right option.

It seems to me that there's an equivalent verb in J, but I can't recall its
name, nor can I find a reference to it in any of the documentation (Wiki,
Help system, etc.) I've searched. The obvious View n didn't work, of
course.

    - Is there such a verb?
    - Where is it documented, in case I or someone else needs to find it
    again later?

I'm running J8.07; I'll switch to J9 as soon as I've had time to check some
of my code for required changes.

Thanks,

Bill
