Related: why has 'ar' (etc.) higher precedence than p?  It seems like it 
would be convenient to say 1ar2r3p1 in place of j./ 2 1 o. 2r3p1.

(An argument from the same premise leads to the conclusion '* should have
 higher precedence than +' (or does it?); but clearly strict adherence to
 such would allow no constructs of nonuniform precedence in literals.)
