Greetings. I recently spent some time with the J Playground. I don't know enough to appreciate everything that must have gone into its implementation (though I suspect the C source for the J engine must have given Emscripten quite a workout) but am even so extremely impressed--and even more impressed by the potential...
...to wit: J now runs in the browser; how close are we to exposing the DOM api to J? Or, to ask the question more directly, When will I be able to escape Typescript and do my client-side web development in J? Irrespective of the answer, thanks very much to those who put in the effort. The threshold for experimenting with J is much lower now, which can only help with recruitment. (In fact, after a long pro-J Zoom call with my young nephew last week I pointed him to the Playground. He remarked that while I hadn't persuaded him to download the J tool chain, he was more than willing to visit a web page and poke around. Mighty oaks from little acorns etc.) Ed ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
