You don't need labs or source unless you want to.
All Plot features are in the Plot demo.
Just find a sample that you want a feature of.
Pick View Definition from Options menu.
Then use Help|User Manual|Plot to see the details.
It may not be exhaustive. For this you will need the source.
Note: in j406 there was a great command, just for
this purpose:
pd'state'
The code is their, but it seems to be broken in j504 and j601.
