I have a work-around that might suffice (under Windows):

  1) click the plot window up to full-screen size, then minimize it to get
it out of the way;

  2) save it at screen size, e.g. mine is 1280x1024, like this:

   glsavebmp_jgl2_ (1280 1024-0 50) [ glfile_jgl2_ 'C:\amisc\pix\test.bmp'

The subtraction of 0 50 reflects that my toolbar takes up 50 pixels on the
bottom of the screen.

This is kind of kludgy - it doesn't allow you to save plots larger than your
current
screen size - but should be sufficient resolution for a web page.
