The jre should be the 32-bit version. Likely your problem is that you
installed the 64-bit version, but at the time J504 was built, that was
not available.

The 64-bit package is a full system, not just the difference from 32-bit.

There is no j.exe, instead only the Java + jconsole versions are supported.
