Note that in the general case, !. is not suitable for specifying
fill.  This is because !. is not supported on arbitrary verbs
created using the rank operator.

In the general case, you can specify fill for numeric arrays using
addition.

In the general case, you can specify fill for character arrays by
mapping them as numeric arrays.

In the general case, it's probably not a good idea to use anything
but the default as fill for boxed arrays.
