For simple application, an exe file may be all that's needed. However for other applications, it also needs to deploy supporting files (dll, ini or database), to create folder, shortcut in starting menu and registry entry (ocx registration, odbc dsn). This will be the job of an installer. The installer can also install the j runtime so that "compile a program into an exe file" is not mandatory. > Thanks (Sorry if this has already been answered a gazillion times, already) > Not at all, your question may deserve a place in J request or FAQ. -- regards, bill ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
