We don't recommend that you modify any files under system. A new
installation, or an update from pmview, will simply overwrite any such
modifications.

There is not much choice about this. For example, you might make a
change that works fine with the current release, but is broken by an
update; or your changes may even break the update.

If your change fixes a bug, or is an improvement, send it to us and we
will update the source. Once the new JAL system is working properly, you
should be able to install a new set of library scripts with that change
almost immediately - this is one reason for setting up JAL.

If the change is specific to your use of the system, then it should be
saved elsewhere, perhaps in your startup script.
