Yes, delevopment on the "trunk" is what usually is practiced.
I tracked the entire JAL/Addons genesis with interest since the
first nascent notes showed up on the RSS feed (or Recent Changes).
I have a bunch of comments on the entire svn/addons architecture.
I'll compile my thoughts in a longer write-up and give notice when
I'm done.
