I don't know the internal of the J interpreter, but if I had had written it, I 
would only read sufficient (<=4) elements to do parsing instead of waiting for a 
4-element queue to be fully fill. I guess they are equivalent because I 
interpret "any" as "don't care", not necessarily a valid token or what-so-ever.
