Thanks for the offer, Dan, but my real problem is indeed the handling
of the DATE type across, yes, ODBC. (I am actually dealing with
"Access"(TM) files. I mentioned jdata/emp/dBASE data because it
exemplifies the problem and makes it repeatable for everybody.)
