I can perhaps generalize something out of the script on the middle two columns of the second side of http://facilitatedsystems.com/mcsimqrc.pdf. It parses a data file that can otherwise be read by Gnuplot. I'm sure many of you can do a better job than this. For one thing, the "commands" in the third column are not fun to retype (I do like Ctrl-D). Sometimes I think it'd be nice if I could type (name n) & gd D to get data from a variable named 'name' in experiment n. Bill PS: The curious can see more at http://facilitatedsystems.com/links.html#sd. In particular, "System Dynamics for Cheapskates" has a bit of J (not as good as what's in the quick reference card) to generate some graphs, and MCSim is the simulator I used to create the data to generate these plots. - -- Bill Harris http://facilitatedsystems.com/weblog/ Facilitated Systems Everett, WA 98208 USA http://facilitatedsystems.com/ phone: +1 425 337-5541 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (MingW32) Comment: For more information, see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQFF0+783J3HaQTDvd8RArUAAJ9dknvmDVpFxlJNYx4dLX2KmKlsfQCfTWCe nlJJGasqqgPDw4IWgPGDgos= =oxre -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
