A floating point number has a finite number of digits.  There's no such thing 
as Pi, there're only approximations.

An integer with an infinite number of digits is easily created:  remove the dot 
from Pi.  If the resulting integer doesn't have an infinite number of digits, 
then neither does Pi.

And yes, it did come up from the professor.  The above was my response.  We 
eent back and forth for a long time.  No satisfactory resolution (for either of 
us).
