Jose: don't think I've forgotten about you.  I'm still looking for examples of 
this.  

The problem is scripts which do this are, by their nature, ephemeral.  They're 
run once and disposed.  If the files still exist,
they're probably some numbered IJS in the ~temp directory of at a 
long-abandonded job.    Fortunately I'm pretty good at taking
all my J directories along with me when I change positions.  

I'll keep looking.
