A rule of thumb,
if the right most word (or parenthesized expression) is a noun,
the expression will be a noun.

Then again, consider:
  1 :''
adjective
  2 :''
conjunction
  3 :''
verb

Of course, these have empty domains, but with different
right nouns, you'd get different behaviors.

Here's a slightly more complicated case:
  +1 :'2 :'''''
conjunction

Anyways, rules of thumb are handy, but J's adjectives and
conjunctions are too powerful to be completely consistent
with any rules of thumb.

I believe that completely specifying the syntactic character
of all arbitrary J expressions involving adverbs and conjunctions
is equivalent to solving the halting problem.
