What is the point of comparing languages if you're not allowed to use the
advantages intrinsic to each language?

A related issue is: what is the advantage of bad specifications?

More specifically, sometimes most of the work in a project is focussed
on inane elements of a specification which has little to do with the
underlying need.

Other times, seemingly inane elements are important.

Understanding and dealing with these sorts of issues can be hard.
