I think use of ~temp etc. would obviate these problems.

I just tried the graphviz sequential machine addon int the latest
6.02beta. It does not find it's temporary
generated user files - probably due to the ever changing location of these
files.
Once the home directories stabilize for the various platforms could these
locations be clearly documented
as addon code often relies on them.
