Thanks Raul. I think you have it, but both of these machines are Dual Cores - except that the Dell running Linux is a "Pentium Dual-Core" (not Pentium M), while the Macs are "Core 2 Duo" machines. There are a lot of confusing reverences on the web about differences and the wikipedia entry -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2 really fleshes out how confusing the choice of names is... The usual magazines don't really clear it up very much.
