Actually it is jsgrid where dblclick is missing. Sorry I did not mention that.

I don't see the problem here. For example, try the following:
load 'grid'
grid_gridhandler_z_=: 1:@smoutput
grid i.5 5
Now left double click the mouse button and see the dblclick event.
