The question of elegance is a side issue. A lot of what I heard was just the Dirty Deck problem, with phrases like 'I'll have to scan all my code for errors.' I'm not in agreement in the need for:

  0 100 100 #: _
_ 0 0

when the result being undefined is actually more elegant, IMO at least.

(a little voice in my head says that the test deck should uncover any errors, better in fact than a scan would, but that's just me.)
