strace doesn't give more detail about the error, it just shows the
same error as the one I get with cderx''

the line:
   ]fad=: >0{ c_mmap (<0);ts;PROT_READ;MAP_SHARED;fh;0
produces the following strace output:
   mmap(NULL, 8589935160, PROT_READ, MAP_SHARED, 4, 0) = -1 ENOMEM
(Cannot allocate memory)
