Robert,

The @. conjunction is a better fit for your use case than `:6 :

           PLUS =: 4 : 0
                x+y
        )

           MINUS =: 4 : 0
                x-y
        )

           MAIN  =: 4 : 0
                'a b'   =: >0 1 {y
                VERB    =:      [EMAIL PROTECTED]
                a VERB b
        )

           PLUS`[ MAIN 3;4
        7
           MINUS`[ MAIN 3;4
        _1

Taking it one step further, abstracting over verbs is exactly the purpose of
adverbs and conjunctions. Further, using a adverb rather than a verb would
allow you to avoid the artificial boxing and tying:

           MAINa =: 1 : 0
                u y
        :
                x u y
        )

           3 PLUS MAINa 4
        7

Is there any reason you want MAIN to be a verb rather than an adverb?
