Hi Volkan - I just tried the example and had no problem with it. Did you spell the path of the file correctly? I notice that the file downloadable from the problem page is spelled "itawords.txt" and the source file to which it refers is spelled "WORD.LST", not "WORDS.LST" as you have it: sometimes error messages mean exactly what they say.
As to your other point, many of us who like J do so because it gives us a powerful, elegant way to describe algorithms. Translating it into a clumsy notation like pseudo-code seems both painful and pointless. Trying to think of an appropriate analogy of why this seems pointless reminds me of a joke: Q: Why is explaining a joke like dissecting a frog? A: No one cares about the result and it kills the frog.
