I'd not discovered that! Obviously, that's where I
should direct my attention.
To tie up the loose end on another topic, my thanks to
you and the others who helped me get in mind that
suppression of formatted display after assignment is a
console-specific parsing exception. I now see better
how J is consistent in providing values "to the left
from the right."
