Thanks guys, I didn't even think of these cases.  This helps.

But I don't understand why you're both suggesting  -/@:,:  instead of just  -  
dyadically.  What's the value add?  Is it to generalize to the case of more 
than two polynomials?  Would  -/  even be meaningful in that case? [1]

[1]  For more than two polynomials  -/:@,:  wouldn't work, but maybe you're 
thinking along the lines of  $:@:,:  :  (-/)  ?
