My google search site:jsoftware.com smprompt only found one hit, and it looks like smprompt just prompts without adding a newline. You should be able to replace that line with any mechanism you like that gets a line of text. If I recall correctly, smprompt would return the entire line from the session manager, including any prompt that the computer had displayed, so you might need to deal with the code that would have accounted for this if you change the code below that level of abstraction. Can you use the debugger, to tell what your call stack looks like when you hit that line?
