I'm trying to do a surface plot with a 7 by 5 array (or something like that). I'd like to have a 3x5 field that's drawn from one color family and a 4x5 field that's from another color family.
As best as I can tell, the color is only related to the height along the Z axis. Is there an easy way to create such a diagram with each row (or column) in a color family I select, perhaps with the intensity of the colors related to the height? (Using the Brewer series might be interesting eventually but not necessary right now; right now, I need to pick the color family.) Oh, and can I make the color rows go either way? I presume |: is the key.
