You are correct.  If you click on "Options/View Definition" on the menu bar
of the display, you can edit the second-to-last line of the definition to
read

pd 'use 288 180 700 800'

If you then click on the "Redisplay" button on the definitions window, the
central icosahedron will no longer shadow the other figures.
