A quick look at the specs for ASIS M70V says that 
the 17 inch display has a resolution of 1440x900 
pixels. This makes sense for a nice 17 inch 100 
pixel/inch display:

    17 %~ | 1440j900
99.8892

Of course, you may have a different resolution 
set - 1280 x 720 would introduce a distortion (on 
a Mac such settings are said to be stretched) if 
they are distorted to fill the entire screen - 
maybe that is the case in Windows too, I don't 
know. In that case, for your screen, your chosen 
ratio makes sense -

    %/ 1440 900 % 1280 720
0.9

My own preference is not to have such a 
distortion and also to use the full resolution of 
a screen (the 100 pixel/inch screens are very 
nice - only outdone by things like the 160 
pixel/inch on iPods/iPhones.
