Thank you for sharing. I agree that marshalling data is the most difficult part. However the j com interface is not much better. Only rank-2 (or rank-3 for character data) array are supported as far as I can remember (I am reluctant to install vs express to test). If you can bite the bullet and write the data marshalling library once and for all, then it will be much easier for your fellow colleagues to pick up and you no longer need to wait for wide unicode support that you requested.
