After pretty print (format script) blank line just after an indented line will be filled with spaces of length same as the leading space in the indented line above, For example
1 if. sssss do. 2 tttttttt 3 __ 4 wwwwwww 5 end. the line 3 is originally empty without any spaces. After formatting, the region marked by __ will be filled with spaces. Some text editors with autoindent will insert these space but editor of j c++/java frontend will not.
