Heh, the same workaround for problems in the 128!:5 ] 0j_. thread [1] also
fixes this one:

           $ +./"1 (128!:5) +. 3 335 $ 0j1
        3 335

(with the slight change from |: to "1  now that we're working on
multidimensional data.)

So, until the next release of J, I recommend everyone replace  128!:5  with
 +./"1@:(128!:5)@:+.  everywhere they use it.
