Better.

I could connect.  The DB I'm connecting to uses 1252, not UTF8, so the
boxing characters became empty squares.  The schema names only picked up
the first part, so I have lots of "system" and "public" and the like
with no distinguishing feature.

It turns out I don't think dbman will help me as much as a programmatic
i/f, which I already have through dd (and R and Emacs), so I'm not
dependent on this.

On a possibly related note, I tried the sqlite browser tonight on a
Mozilla DB that's hidden in ~/.mozilla, and I couldn't figure out how to
access dot directory files.  In Gnome, Ctrl-h hides and unhides them,
but that didn't work in the sqlite browser.
