Yes, you reminded me I also saw similar behavior running 32-bit J on 32-bit windows server 2008. A warning box always pop-up when terminating a J application. It appeared no data loss in the co-located sqlserver. However I got no opportunity to spare that server for debug, thus just accepted it as a window idiosyncratic. There is no such problem from win 95 to xp.
