It's interesting that Dan also proposed using `:1 for this functionalty.

I suppose, now that the source code has been publicly released, its
possible for us to hack this in on some copies.  But unless we have
some hope of the changes being accepted into the main interpreter
those changes would be meaningless.  (New terminology is only
worthwhile if people that use the language mean it the same way --
though in this case I have some confidence that this one could have
the same meaning even when re-invented.)
